ANN ARBOR, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – Three of the first 15 players taken in the 2025 NFL Draft are Michigan football players. Mason Graham (DL), Coltson Loveland (TE), and Kenneth Grant (DL) all were first-round picks. All three players helped Michigan to three Big Ten Championships and the 2024 National Championship. It is the first time since 2001 that Michigan had three players taken in the first round.
Graham was the fifth pick taken by the Cleveland Browns and the first defensive tackle in the draft. He was the second defensive player drafted, as Penn State’s Abdul Carter was the first one taken third by New York. Graham was a two-time unanimous All-American, making the first team in 2024, and second team in 2023, and the 2023 Rose Bowl Game Defensive MVP.

Loveland became the 10th pick as the Chicago Bears took him to add to their new offensive philosophy with Caleb Williams. He was the sixth offensive player and first tight end taken in the first 10 picks. An All-American in 2024 on the second team, he was a two-time All-Big Ten selection and a Mackey Award finalist.
Grant became the fourth defensive player drafted as the Dolphins picked him at 13th. He was the second Michigan defensive lineman taken in the first round behind teammate Graham. The two-time All-Big Ten selection was a 2024 All-American third-team member.
In 2001, Michigan had three first-round picks: wide receiver David Terrell (8th) to Chicago, offensive lineman Steve Hutchinson (17th) to Seattle, and offensive lineman Jeff Backus (18th) by the Detroit Lions. Three players also went in the first round in 1995.
Michigan, led by Donavan Edwards and Will Johnson, has several players left who can be taken in the NFL Draft.
