LANSING, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel referred to President Donald Trump as a fascist in a post on her X account.

“Why I refuse to normalize this president,” Nessel wrote April 10 while linking to an article from a news organization about her preoccupation with Trump. “Appeasement is not workable strategy with a fascist.”

The Merriam-Webster definition of “fascist” is “a populist political philosophy, movement, or regime that exalts nation and often race above the individual, that is associated with a centralized autocratic government headed by a dictatorial leader, and that is characterized by severe economic and social regimentation and by forcible suppression of opposition.”

It was Nessel who in 2021 ordered the arrest and jailing of Marlena Pavlos-Hackney who defied the unpopular lockdown order and kept her restaurant in Holland open during the pandemic.

When Nessel learned that Hackney was planning to tell her side of the story on then-Fox News host Tucker Carlson’s show, the AG sent an email on March 12, 2021 to staff that said, ““Do we know her whereabouts? We should just have her picked up before she goes on. This is outrageous.”

Nessel has joined numerous lawsuits this year along with other state attorneys general in opposition to Trump’s policies. She also started a podcast in which Trump is a regular topic of conversation.
