(Michigan News Source) – Officially having the longest current NCAA Tournament appearance streak, Michigan State has made its 27th straight appearance and will be the no. 2 seed in the South Region. The streak of 27 is the second longest in NCAA history behind Kansas and North Carolina, which both made 28 in a row.
Tom Izzo holds the NCAA record for consecutive appearances with 27 and surpassed Duke’s Mike Krzyzewski with 25 in 2023.

MSU will face no. 15 seed Bryant, the America East Champion) in the first round at Rocket Arena on Friday, March 21, in Cleveland, Ohio. This will be MSU’s 38th NCAA Tournament appearance. They boast a 73-36 record, 10 Final Fours, and two national championships. Their .670 winning percentage is ninth-best all-time, and their 73 wins are sixth all-time.
