WEBBERVILLE, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – A township planning commission meeting slated for Tuesday night in a community which straddles Ingham and Livingston Counties is causing a stir.
The Iosco Township Planning Commission will host the public hearing at 6 p.m. where it will hear from DTE Energy officials who want to amend a rezoning map to make way for a possible 1,200 acre solar energy farm near Webberville. The public will have time to comment as well.

A community post on Facebook from “Events and things happening in Howell (and nearby)” sent a plea to the community about the meeting: “This impacts us all! Please plan to attend.”
The news in Iosco Township comes after public outrage shut down a more than 400 acre plan between the Michigan Department of Natural Resources (DNR) and RWE Energy to lease public land in Otsego County for a solar farm. After statewide pushback against the project, the company backed away.
