CADILLAC, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – It’s been almost two months since a cyberattack shut down many Wexford County services, and some departments are still dealing with the breach.
Most departments came back online at least partially a month later, but not the Register of Deeds office. It remains offline which is causing problems for title companies.

Wexford County Administrator Joe Porterfield says the equalization department can help with certain records, like transferring documents and quick claim deeds. However, many services remain on hold until the database can be restored.
