KALAMAZOO, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – A year for the record books, Western Michigan won their first-ever MAC Women’s Soccer Tournament Championship. Taking a 5-0 win over Buffalo, they received the automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament and will face Michigan State in the first round.

WMU won both games played in the MAC Tournament, outscoring opponents 9-1. They opened the tournament with a 4-1 win over Kent State and then shut out Buffalo for the championship. It is the first time the program has won both the MAC regular season and tournament championships.

They will be going to their fourth NCAA Tournament in program history. This will be their first NCAA postseason appearance since 2015, and they are looking for their first win since 2013.

MSU and WMU will play each other on Saturday, Nov. 16, at noon at DeMartin Stadium.
