House Bills 4410, 4411, and 4412 would grant driver’s licenses for everyone, including illegal aliens. The package of bills is called the Drive SAFE bill. Representatives with the Michigan Immigrant Rights Center drew attention to the issue on the Capitol steps on Wednesday.

Rep. Julie Brixie (D-Meridian Township) and outgoing Rep. Rachel Hood (D-Grand Rapids) also stood alongside advocates on Wednesday.

Incoming House Majority Leader Matt Hall (R) posted several times on X and highlighted what he called “[rewarding] illegal aliens with driver’s licenses — incentivizing criminal invaders is an affront to Michigan values and compromises our public safety.”
