LANSING, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer stars in a social media post where she and other Democratic governors using a profanity to highlight their alleged effectiveness.
The video was posted Oct. 4 on TikTok during Whitmer’s tour campaigning for Kamala Harris in Michigan with other Democratic governors. The video starts with Whitmer lip-synching a lyric “I have one thing to say” from drag
queen RuPaul’s song Supermodel.

Then Whitmer along with other Democratic governors all recite, “Democratic governors get *hit done.” Whitmer then rattles a noise maker. The video had 229k views in its first four days.
Whitmer’s office didn’t respond to an email seeking comment.
Using profanities to promote themselves is becoming more prevalent among Democratic politicians.
Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel posted on X in August, “Lady prosecutors get *hit done.”
Whitmer has used swear words like “hell” and “damn” on her official letterhead and social media. When the NFL draft came to Detroit, Whitmer said it was a “BFD.” Dictionary.com describes BFD as “a euphemistic initialism used to avoid explicit vulgarity.”
In July, the state of Michigan put out a press release stating that Whitmer was continuing to fix the “damn” roads. That was a nod to Whitmer’s 2018 campaign pledge that she would “Fix the Damn Roads.”
Whitmer’s social media presence has created controversy. In an Instagram video posted earlier this month, Whitmer laid a Dorito chip onto the tongue of a kneeling social media influencer that looked very similar to how a Catholic would receive communion.
The Michigan Catholic Conference criticized the video.
