FLINT, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – More than 850 nurses at McLaren Flint will not be going on strike after approving a new four-year contract.
The approval of the new contract comes after nurses voted down the first offer on Oct. 18.

McLaren Health said the agreement gives nurses increased wages and benefits and a “positive work environment.” Nurses had been asking for better nurses-to-patient ratios. In addition, McLaren said it will commit to the recruitment and retention of quality nurses.
McLaren withdrew its lawsuit against members of the union. It accused them of violating federal labor relations laws by suggesting patients seek care at other hospitals during contract negotiations.
