LANSING, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson launched a new interactive tool that she said will allow voters to access more detailed election data as it becomes available.

Benson said the Michigan Voting Dashboard allows Michiganders to see county data along with absentee and early voting progress.

“Democracy works best with an informed and engaged electorate…[and this is] our latest effort to make government more transparent and accessible to the people we serve,” said Secretary Benson.

Benson also promoted the government as the most trusted source of election information. “We also know that official sources of information are more important than ever to help center our conversation on the rule of law, on the truth, and on the security of the system. Making those official sources of information more user-friendly, more accessible, and easier to understand makes them more useful. It prebunks misinformation and builds trust in our elections,” Benson said.

Data on the dashboard is updated daily and is pulled from the state’s Qualified Voter File (QVF). It’s the same voter file Benson has refused to clean up and eliminate dead voters.

Absentee voting is underway in Michigan and early voting starts this weekend in some Michigan jurisdictions.
