ROCHESTER HILLS, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – Police say that two suspects who claimed to be DTE workers killed a homeowner and tied up his wife with duct tape at a home in Rochester Hills on Friday.

Officials took one of suspects into custody in Shreveport, Louisiana on Saturday night. The other suspect is still at large, and the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office said the second suspect should be considered armed and dangerous.

On Saturday, the sheriff’s office identified the victim as 72-year-old Hussein Murray.

Oakland County Sheriff Michael Bouchard says the two men, who had a white pickup truck with a DTE placard, drove to the house on Thursday night and tried to get inside but were denied. On Friday, they came back and said they were investigating a gas leak in the area.

Bouchard says Murray went to the basement with the workers but never came up again. The wife reportedly told officials the men came upstairs, bound her with duct tape and looked through the house for about 20 minutes before leaving.

The wife is currently at the hospital recovering.
