WARREN, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – Former President Donald Trump made two stops in Michigan on Friday and reached out to Michigan’s base of blue collar automobile and manufacturing workers.

Trump’s first stop in Walker focused on his plans to boost manufacturing jobs. He said he wants to slash the federal corporate tax rate from 21% to 15% for companies that make their products in the U.S. In addition, Trump wants to  place tariffs of an upwards of 200% on cars manufactured in Mexico that are imported into the U.S.

Later on Friday night at a town hall in Warren, Trump emphasized that an America-first focus on manufacturing is rooted in with energy independence.

“It’s going to start with energy. We’re going to drill, baby, drill,” Trump said. “When energy comes down everything else follows.”

Trump supporters and former Democrats Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Tulsi Gabbard will stump for Trump in Dearborn on Saturday night.
