LANSING, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – Lactaid milk is being recalled in more than two dozen states, including Michigan.

The drink, which is serves as an alternative for people with lactose intolerance, is being recalled by HP Hood LLC. The recall impacts multiple units of its 96-ounce Lactaid Milk containers because the product may contain trace amounts of almond. That ingredient is not listed on the label.

Those with an allergy or sensitivity to almonds may experience a serious or life-threatening allergic reaction. No illnesses have been reported to date.

In addition to Michigan, the company shipped the affected product to retailers and wholesalers Sept. 5-18 in Alabama, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Minnesota, Missouri, Mississippi, North Carolina, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Texas, Virginia, Wisconsin, and Wyoming.

Customers can return affected Lactaid to the store for a full refund or exchange.
