LANSING, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – Michigan is pumping the breaks on its experiment with digital license plates.
Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson has sent letters to the roughly 1,700 drivers with digital license plates and announced they must go back to a standard metal plate during their next registration.

The state is terminating its agreement with Reviver, the only company in the state currently allowed to sell digital license plates.
The $699 digital plates accounted for 0.02% of the 8.26 million license plates currently registered in Michigan.
