BIG RAPIDS, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – GOP Vice President candidate JD Vance braved the sweltering temperatures in a suit and tie on Tuesday afternoon to deliver a message to those who’d gathered in Big Rapids and the state as a whole: “Michigan is going Red.”
The Republican presidential ticket appears to have Michigan in its sights. Vance’s visit comes one day after former President Donald’s Trump speech to National Guard members in Detroit where he received an endorsement from surprise speaker and former Democrat Tusli Gabbard. Trump will return to Michigan on Thursday when he speaks at Alro Steel in Potterville.

Vance stood nearby the Gotion megasite, a company with communist China ties and is being funded with Michigan taxpayer dollars. “Gotion a threat to American national security,” Vance told the crowd. He mentioned Harris wants to continue to pay China to build similar sites with taxpayer money.
He also highlighted the obvious holes in Harris’ recent stump speeches and questioned her so-called accomplishments during the past three-and-a-half years. “[Harris] said she’d fix it all on day one,” Vance said. “Day one was 1,300 days ago. What the hell have you been doing?”
Vance, who did not initially support Trump when voters elected him in 2016, eventually changed his mind.
“[Trump] persuaded me because he did such a good job,” Vance said, referring to Trump’s 2016-2020 term in office. “Gas was $2 a gallon and inflation wasn’t even an issue. We had a hell of a lot of peace when Trump was president of the U.S. Our border was secure and overdose deaths went down.”
Vance also took the opportunity to confront Gov. Tim Walz who has continued to lie about his military record.
“The closest he came to combat is when people burned Minneapolis,” Vance said. “Let me say to Kamala: You are fired.”
