LANSING, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – Gov. Gretchen Whitmer is trotting out her “bipartisan” family once again, this time when speaking on MSNBC this week.

In the interview clip, Whitmer referenced her traditional Republican father and Democratic mother growing up and said she did not win Michigan by 11 points in 2022 without bringing over some Republicans and Independent voters.

In reality, Whitmer has not had to work with Republicans during the past two years. The Democratic majority in both Michigan’s House and Senate, along with Democratic politicians in the state’s top three jobs, has resulted in Democratic priorities being pushed through legislative sessions and into law.
