GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – The Michigan Department of Natural Resources (DNR) is currently searching for an alligator in Crockery Lake in northern Ottawa County.
On July 25th, a couple visiting the beach said they spotted the four-and-a-half-foot-long gator in the sandy part of their yard by the water reported it. DNR Lieutenant Gerald Thayer explained that alligators occasionally appear in Michigan waters, typically after being released by someone who had brought a baby gator from the South and let it go when it grew larger.
