ALPENA, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – It’s a celebration 50 years in the making! The Michigan Brown Trout Festival has returned to offer music, food, and the longest-running fishing tournament on the Great Lakes.

The event will be held at Alpena Marina in Alpena and features three entertainment tents.

The tournament includes various contests, such as the kids’ offshore tournament, ladies’ classic, and the Super Tournament, which has a first-place prize of $10,000.

Additionally, there is a $4,500 prize for catching a specially tagged and planted brown trout known as “Big Brownie.” That trout was caught in 2017, the first and only time in the tournament’s history.
