DETROIT (Michigan News Source) – After five days of deliberation a jury acquitted 29-year-old Michael Jackson-Bolanos of first-degree premeditated murder in the killing of Detroit synagogue leader Samantha Woll.
The jury couldn’t reach a unanimous verdict on felony murder, which under Michigan law is murder committed during another crime, and home invasion. This means Jackson-Bolanos could face another trial.

Prosecutors argued Jackson-Bolanos fatally stabbed the 40-year-old Woll at her home last October. He testified in his own defense. He said he did not kill her but he did touch her body when he discovered it outdoors in the middle of the night.
Prosecutor Kym Worthy pledged continued justice for Woll’s family and said next steps would be disclosed at a future hearing.
