DETROIT (Michigan News Source) – Bringing in veteran talent to help with the young team, the Detroit Pistons have added three players for the upcoming season. Former Dallas Maverick Tim Hardaway, Jr., Milwaukee Bucks’ Malik Beasley, and Philadelphia 76ers Tobias Harris all have both signed with the Pistons.
Former Michigan Wolverine Hardaway, Jr., comes back to the state after playing the last 10 years around the NBA. The last five years were spent in Dallas as he went to the NBA Finals this year with the Mavericks and averaged 14.4 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 1.8 assists per game. He has spent 11 years in the NBA with the Mavericks, New York Knicks, and Atlanta Hawks. He played three years for the Wolverines and was an All-Big Ten First Team selection his junior season. The Knicks took him as the 24th pick in the 2013 NBA Draft in the first round.

Beasley was a 2016 first round draft pick by Denver out of Florida State University. He spent four seasons with the Nuggets and then three with the Minnesota Timberwolves. He split the 2022-23 season with the Los Angeles Lakers and Utah Jazz before being a member of the Bucks this past season. Last year, he averaged 11.3 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 1.4 assists per game. For his career, he is averaging 10.9 points per game with his best season coming in 2019-20 averaging 20.7 points per game with the Timberwolves.
Harris averaged 17.2 points, 6.5 rebounds, and 3.1 assists per game last season for the 76ers. This will be his second stint with the Pistons as he was in Detroit from 2016-18. The 2011 NBA First Round selection by the Charlotte Hornets (19th) was traded to Milwaukee the same day. He has played for the Bucks, Los Angeles Clippers, Orlando Magic, and 76ers.
These veteran players will come in and work with 2024 NBA Draft picks Ron Holland II and Bobi Klintman.
