DETROIT (Michigan News Source) – President Joe Biden will return to Michigan on Friday for the fourth time this year.

Two sources with knowledge of the plans said Biden will visit Detroit. Last week, First Lady Jill Biden visited Grand Rapids and Traverse City.

The 81-year-old President is attempting to rebound from his disastrous first debate performance two weeks ago against Republican Donald Trump. In addition, the media and members of his own Democratic party have persisted with questions regarding Biden’s mental health and competency to lead the free world.

Biden has reiterated he’s staying in the race.

Politico reported that Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, who is co-chair of the Biden reelection campaign, said in a phone call to the party and donors following the debate that Biden’s poor performance meant he can no longer win Michigan. She denied those reports.

Incidentally, Biden’s visit to the Great Lakes State may be another way for Whitmer to promote her autobiography, True Gretch, which is set for release on Tuesday.

Michigan’s primary election is Tuesday, August 6. The presidential election is Nov. 5.
