MONROE, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – A Monroe High School cheerleading coach on leave amid allegations of inappropriate behavior with a minor has resigned.
Monroe Public Schools Superintendent Andrew Shaw said in a statement last week the coach was placed on administrative leave at the end of the school year amid the allegations. Shaw said rumors about the coach’s inappropriate behavior first surfaced in the fall. He said investigations by the district and Sheriff’s Office found no credible evidence. The Monroe County Sheriff’s office is also investigating the allegations.

In addition, the superintendent said the school’s other cheer coach has left the program. He added that coaching positions were posted immediately after the resignations and were promptly filled.
