LANSING, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – Gov. Gretchen Whitmer has made abortion a staple of her time in office, and she’s been out in full force this week condemning the U.S. Supreme Court’s (SCOTUS) June 2022 decision to turn abortion rights back to the states.

Gov. Whitmer appeared on CNN during the second anniversary of SCOTUS overturning Roe v. Wade. Whitmer and the Biden administration have tried to convince the American people that Trump is responsible for the court’s decision, and that their decision outlawed abortion. That is not true.

Through a proposal passed by voters in 2022, Michigan has enshrined abortion in its constitution. Among other things, it guarantees abortion for many reasons up through all nine months of pregnancy.

Democrats have made abortion a key issue in the 2024 election. Former President Donald Trump will debate President Joe Biden on Thursday night in Atlanta.
