DETROIT (Michigan News Source) – Coming off a great UFL season with the Michigan Panthers, Jake Bates will stay in Michigan as he signed a two-year, $1.98 million contract. Bates has made several long field goals this past year including two 60+ yarders with one being a game winner.
Detroit waived former University of Michigan player James Turner to make a spot on the roster for Bates. The addition of Bates shows the commitment from head coach Dan Campbell to making the special teams stronger.
