This is not the first time the Gretchen Whitmer administration’s “welcoming” policy has come under fire. Ruby Garcia, a 25-year-old Grand Rapids resident, was allegedly killed in March by her illegal immigrant boyfriend Brandon Ortiz-Vite. He is headed to trial.

In April, officials said an illegal migrant from Mexico allegedly broke into a St. Joseph County home and raped two young girls. He eluded police for one week before being captured in Indiana. Officials there held him on an immigration retainer.
