DETROIT (Michigan News Source) – The largest mansion ever built in Detroit will be auctioned off on Monday after being on the market for more than a year.

The Bishop Mansion is on two-acres in the historic Palmer Woods neighborhood and boasts more than 31,000-square-feet.

It was built in the 1920s and was once home to Catholic Bishop Michael Gallagher;  John Salley of the Detroit Pistons purchased it in 1989.

It went up for sale for $9 million May 2023. The last asking price dropped to $6 million. It is currently being renovated.
