MT. CLEMENS, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – Macomb County residents are being warned about a scam letter being sent in the mail.

The letter, which has been sent to residents in Shelby Township, appears to be from the Macomb County Tax Assessment Office. The letter goes on to claim that property will be seized or forfeited due to nonpayment of taxes.

Anyone who receives the letter or one similar to it and wants to check its validity is urged to contact the Macomb County Assessing Office.
