JACKSON, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – An off-duty deputy from the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office has died.
Deputy Christopher Davis was killed on Saturday in a vehicle crash in Waterloo Township.

Davis is a Jackson County native and an alumnus of Michigan Center High School. Davis joined the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office in August of 2022 and completed his training at the Lansing Police Academy.
In a Facebook post, the department described Davis as someone who will be deeply missed. “Known for his constant smile and ability to improve difficult situations, Chris had a profound passion for law enforcement. He was an outstanding deputy, a loving husband, brother, and son.”
Grief counselors are providing support to his family and Sheriff’s personnel. Michigan State Police say the crash is still under investigation.
