KALAMAZOO, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – Kalamazoo city commissioners have approved requesting $110 million in a loan from the state’s Drinking Water State Revolving Fund for water system improvements.

The plan received final approval on Monday night. Commissioners earmarked $51 million for consolidating several water stations and building a new consolidated iron, manganese and PFAS removal station.

Another $46 million will extend the city’s public water supply in Richland and Ross Townships to address residential wells contaminated with PFAS.
