DETROIT (Michigan News Source) – The U.S. Census Bureau says Detroit’s population has grown for the first time since 1957.
Mayor Mike Duggan says it “is the news we’ve been waiting for ten years.” The bureau’s annual population estimate puts Detroit at 633,218residents, up from 631,366 in 2022.

Duggan says more than 10,000 vacant homes have been renovated and families moved in over the past several years.
