MIDLAND, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – Midland Democrat Sabrina Lopez has had plenty to say on her Twitter/X account over the years about the people living in the city of Midland, former President Donald J. Trump and the police – and most of it hasn’t been flattering to say the least.
It also appears that the expletive “f*ck” holds a special place in Lopez’s vocabulary, appearing nearly 50 times in her social media posts since 2020. She directs it towards a range of topics, from addressing perceived racism and police matters to discussing trans issues, Trump, a hotel in Mackinaw City, and even Ohio.

The reason why all of this is concerning is because of her candidacy for the Michigan State House, vying for the representation of Midland within the state’s 95th district against the incumbent Republican, Bill G. Schuette. She faces no Democrat opposition in the primary.
The X handle for Sabrina Lopez is @sabrina4575. She has a “Black Lives Matter” profile photo and calls herself a “Mother, Chicana, Progressive, Bravoholic and Spoonie.”
Candidate’s health reasons for post-pandemic mask wearing.
A “spoonie” is a term used by those who live with chronic illnesses. In an interview with Dave Bondy on Mid-Michigan NOW in May of 2021 where she discusses why she still wears a mask even after the COVID-19 orders had been lifted in the state of Michigan, Lopez tells him that she has auto-immune disease, back issues, fibromyalgia, a brain aneurism and her skin “hurts.” She also points out that her daughter works with seniors.
Lopez posts derogatory messages about community she hopes to represent.
It’s noteworthy to see in her social media posts that she has expressed disdain for Midland, the very place she aims to represent, and has openly voiced her aversion towards many of its inhabitants on the social media platform Twitter/X.
The progressive Democrat announced her candidacy on April 3rd and the Midland County Democratic Party said about her announcement event, “All are welcome to attend and hear Sabrina’s message of representation for everybody.”
The question is, who exactly who will she be representing if she wins the election? But the answer, according to her posts on social media, seems pretty clear that she most likely would not be representing “everybody.”

Posting on then-Twitter on September 11, 2020, Lopez responded to “Lulu” who mentioned that Trump “can hold a cult rally but STILL can’t come to see the flood devastation, 20 miles
away” (referring to the dam failure that resulted in massive flooding in Midland in 2020).
Insulting words for people in Midland who she considers to be Covid-spreaders and hicks.
Lopez responded about Trump and his supporters, “He’s (Trump) such a piece of sh*t. These f*cks better not spread covid around here. Did he even mention the flood? He said he’d come here to talk about it. All he does is lie and play golf.”
About Midland, Lopez said, “It IS stupid and filled with hicks. I hate it here. I’ll post Midland’s (Covid) numbers everyday.”
Other tweets from Lopez can be seen below (warning – explicit language) in which she has derogatory statements regarding the police, people who weren’t taking the COVID-19 vaccine at the time, America and Trump supporters.
Confirmation that the account @sabrina4575 belongs to Michigan House candidate Sabrina Lopez can be found below. Her April 6th post also confirms the same.
Candidate, who is half-white, admonishes Midland area for being “white” and “MAGA.”
Additionally, although Lopez is half-white according to her social media statements, she posted recently on March 24th she said, “I’m in Midland, MI and it’s as white and MAGA as it sounds.”
Rep. Schuette responds to Lopez’s social media posts…
Michigan News Source sent the tweets to Rep. Schuette for comment on them and he returned the following statement, “My focus in this campaign is to work hard to get Michigan back on track with a positive and determined attitude. I am proud to be born and raised in Midland and am grateful to serve and represent the wonderful people of Mid-Michigan in the legislature.”
Michigan News Source also reached out to Lopez to give her the opportunity to explain her current and past social media posts but she did not return our request for comment.
