CHARLOTTE, N.C. (Michigan News Source) – March Madness is officially here and the Michigan State University (MSU) Spartans are moving on.

The Spartans men’s basketball team defeated the Mississippi State Bulldogs 69-51 in the first game of the NCAA Tournament.

Tyson Walker led the team with 19 points. The Spartans never trailed during the game and led at halftime 31-24.

Michigan State will play Saturday in Charlotte against the winner of the North Carolina and Wagner game.
