WASHINGTON (Michigan News Source) – Former President Donald Trump took time on Tuesday to speak to Michigan voters as they head to the polls in the state’s Presidential Primary.
Trump spoke on The Steve Gruber Show on Tuesday morning and covered everything from illegal immigration to energy independence.

“There’s never been a president so incompetent as what we have right now,” Trump said referring to President Joe Biden. “It’s inconceivable that someone could sit back and say open borders with the whole world pouring in. They are coming from prisons and jails and mental institutions. They are destroying our country,” Trump said.
Trump’s message to Michigan voters comes one day after GOP challenger Nikki Haley spoke in Grand Rapids. She faces an uphill climb after losing the primary in her home state of South Carolina, but cautioned Michigan voters that Trump cannot defeat Biden in a general election.
Meanwhile, President Trump plans to visit the southern border on Thursday. President Biden will be making a stop there as well.
“Biden is a chaser,” Trump said, referring to the president following him to the border and delaying a visit to East Palestine, Ohio one year after a chemical train derailment. “He spent three years not going to the border and now I’m going. It’s a disaster. It’s so obvious and crazy the way they’re running things.”
Trump did not hold back when it came to Biden’s energy policy either. On the same day Biden took office, he shut down the Keystone Pipeline and other key energy sources which the U.S. had relied on for energy independence under the Trump years.
“We have liquid gold under our feet and yet we go to Venezuela to get it [now]” Trump said.

In addition, Trump criticized the Electric Vehicle (EV) push and has repeated on the campaign trail that it will destroy the auto industry.
“EVs don’t work well in cold weather and they don’t go far,” Trump said. “The country can’t build that many chargers.”
Polls in Michigan are open until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. For more information click here.
