WASHINGTON (Michigan News Source) – Four years after Gov. Gretchen Whitmer and Dr. Anthony Fauci called “the science settled” over COVID-19 lockdowns and protocols, The Center for Disease Control (CDC) plans to issue new guidance this spring that loosens isolation recommendations for those who test positive for the virus.
What are the new recommendations?
The recommendation would no longer ask people to stay home from work or school for five days after testing positive for coronavirus. Those who test positive would be able to return to school or work 24 hours after they’re fever free without the use of medication and as symptoms are improving.
Why the change?

Natural immunities, medications, and the number of people who are vaccinated contributed to this move. Discussions surrounding those factors started last year.
If approved, the guidance would not apply to hospitals and other health-care settings.
