WYOMING, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – The Wyoming Fire Department in Kent County will soon have a new acting chief.

Wyoming city officials say Deputy Chief Dennis Van Tassell will take over as Acting Fire Chief on January 1st, 2024.

Tassell has been with the department for 24-years and will replace former fire Chief Brian Benett. Benett left the role earlier this year due to what the city says was argumentative behavior with a lack of respect for leadership.
