LANSING, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – The firearm deer hunting season has wrapped up and the Michigan Department of Natural Resources (DNR) is reporting that hunters harvested more than 133,000 deer during the 15-day season in all of Michigan’s counties.

Michigan’s total deer hunting harvest for all seasons this fall exceeds 223,000 as of December 1.

The DNR says hunters took 18,000 deer on November 15, which is the opening day of firearm season.

Deer hunting in Michigan will continue Friday with the muzzleloader season through December 10; late archery season will continue through the month of December. A late antlerless firearm deer season is scheduled for Dec. 11 to Jan. 1.
