LANSING, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – Michigan’s unemployment rate for October was up two-tenths-of-a-percent from September.

The state Department of Technology, Management & Budget says it is now 4.1%.. Economists add the labor market trends from October 8th through the 14th included the active UAW strike in the state. As a result, they say the unemployment rate was impacted.

Average weekly hours and earnings both fell in Michigan’s manufacturing industry since September. The state’s jobless rate was slightly higher than the national rate of three-point-nine-percent.

The total labor force rose by 23,000 between September and October.
