LANSING, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – Opening day of firearm deer hunting season in Michigan could be considered a statewide holiday. As Wednesday, November 15 approaches, the Michigan Department of Natural Resources is issuing reminders as hunters make their way into the woods.
Just like last year, all harvested deer must be reported. Officials say the best way to report the kill is to use the Michigan DNR Hunt Fish app.

The Michigan DNR reports that last year’s firearm season boasted 154, 598 deer harvested by hunters during the November 15-30 season. On opening day of the 2022 season, hunters reported 45,834 deer taken.
Additional rules and regulations can be found on the Michigan DNR website.
