YPSILANTI, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – Eastern Michigan University will become one of the first campuses in the state to install an AI system used to detect guns.
ZeroEyes, a platform with a U.S. Department of Homeland Security SAFETY Act Designation, is being deployed using the university’s digital camera system.

The software identifies a gun and instantly shares the image to the ZeroEyes Operations Center. It is staffed at all times by U.S. military and law enforcement veterans.
The program does not conduct any kind of facial recognition, which eliminates the risk of bias based on skin color or other personal characteristics.
