Tracy wrote, “From the moment of filing my formal complaint against Coach Tucker in December 2022, my focus has been to navigate and complete the school process without the involvement of the public and the media.”
In the statement, Tracy said “someone outed me to the media” prior to the early Sunday morning publication of the case in USA Today. “I am angry that my right to confidentiality was violated and I hope that those who are responsible are held accountable.”
Once the news of the sexual harassment allegations broke on Sunday, MSU appeared to scramble and engage in damage control and hosted a press conference later that afternoon. In the press conference, officials announced the suspension of Tucker without pay until an October 5 hearing.
Tucker has released a statement of his own on Tuesday, claiming the “phone sex” was consensual.
The phone call in question occurred in April 2022. Tracy filed a complaint with MSU in December and the committee wrapped up its investigation on July 25 with the recommended hearing date.
