LUDINGTON, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – The S.S. Badger, which ferries passengers and vehicles from Ludington, Michigan to Manitowoc, Wisconsin, is officially closed for the season after an unexpected failure of a counterweight and subsequent damage to a ramp system.
The President of Interlake Maritime Services, Mark Barker, released a video where he explains how the ramp system failed.

Safety fences are up while repairs are made.
The Badger hopes to open back up in 2024.
