INDIAN RIVER, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – A new nature preserve is on the map in Cheboygan County.
Nature lovers can now enjoy the 360-acre preserve near Indian River established by the nonprofit Littler Traverse Conservancy.

The new L. John & Helen Bishop Working Forest Reserve includes nearly 1.5 miles of the Little Pigeon River.
The newly protected land is next to two existing Little Traverse Conservancy properties, creating a nature preserve complex totaling more than 800 acres.
