ROSCOMMON, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – If you are traveling with the family dog this summer, there is one spot to add to your road trip list.

The Michigan Department of Natural Resources (DNR) announced this week that a dog beach has opened at one of the Michigan State Parks.

South Higgins Lake State Park in Roscommon has opened the beach on the campgrounds west side, next to the lagoon.

It should be noted that even if Fido is well behaved, all dogs must be kept on a six foot leash on the beach and in the water.
