ANN ARBOR, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – History will be made for the Michigan Wolverines this weekend as they travel to Ithaca, N.Y. for the opening round of the NCAA Tournament. Michigan received their berth into the tournament with a 14-5 win over Maryland in the Big Ten Tournament championship game.

This will be the second time that Michigan will face Cornell University as they last faced each other in 2014. Cornell pulled off a 15-14 win on March 1, 2014, inside the Oosterbaan Fieldhouse.

Michigan has won nine contests this year with three wins over ranked opponents including Maryland and Penn State in the Big Ten Tournament. The Wolverines will be one of four Big Ten programs in the NCAA Tournament as Penn State, Maryland, and John Hopkins will also be playing.

The contest vs. Cornell will be on Sunday, May 14, at 2:30 p.m. on ESPNU.
