The Isaac Brown House was built in 1867 and tucked away in a commercial district on South Burdick Street. It is currently divided into three apartments. Brown built the home after a failed journey for gold in California.
Brown moved to Kalamazoo at the start of the Civil War. He worked as a loan agent and a dealer in real estate before building the historical home in 1867. It’s known for its Italianate style.
