DETROIT (Michigan News Source) – Milwaukee took a 5-0 lead after three innings and then held off a Tigers rally earning one win in the series over Detroit, 6-2. Michael Lorenzen went five innings giving up five earned runs and had five strikeouts.

A.J. Hinch said about Lorenzen’s outing, “I was hoping he could go more.” Lorenzen answered a question after the game about his performance saying, “A hundred pitches in five is pretty embarrassing, to be honest. I have to figure it out.”

Detroit had only six hits in the game as Akil Baddoo had two. Four other players added a hit. Baddoo and Jake Rogers each had a RBI.

Milwaukee scored three in the first inning and then two in the third for the 5-0 lead. In the top of the fourth, Baddoo doubled for the first run of the game as Nick Maton scored. Rogers then singled in Baddoo for the second run cutting the lead to three, 5-2. After three scoreless innings, Milwaukee homered in the eighth to finish off the scoring.

Detroit will be back at home for a four-game series with Baltimore starting on Thursday night at 6:40 p.m.
