MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – Central Michigan earned a Mid-American Conference Player of the Week award in baseball as Adam Mrakitsch was named the Pitcher of the Week. The sophomore from Howell, Mich., had a two-hit shutout over MAC-leading Ball State University in the opener of the three-game series. CMU went on to take all three from Ball State improving to 21-13 overall and now have won eight of their last nine games.
Mrakitsch had 10 strikeouts in the 9-1 win over Ball State as he improved to 5-2 with a 3.77 ERA. He gave up a leadoff double in the third inning and a solo home run in the fourth but then retired 15 straight CMU batters.

This is his first MAC award of his young career at CMU.
