ST. IGANCE, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – The Michigan Department of Technology, Management and budget report the latest number reveal the Upper Peninsula jobless rate rose to 7.4% in February, 0.2 percent higher than January.

Mackinac County comes in the highest at 22.7% unemployment with Menominee County having the lowest at 4.8%.
The U.P.’s 7.4% unemployment rate is much higher than the states overall percentage which is at 4.6 %
The U.S. unemployment rate is at 3.6%
