SAULT STE. MARIE, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – While many Michiganders headed to warmer climates and sunny skies during this spring break season, Michigan News Source reporter Tim Ellis spent his time living it up “Yooper” style at his U.P. home.

Ellis wrote on Facebook, “What do you do when you can’t leave for Spring Break and Mother Nature dumps two feet of snow on you on April Fools Day? You create your own YOOPER Spring Break….. That’s what you do! We had an amazing time on our balcony, in the pool, the ocean and on the beach. HAPPY SPRING BREAK!”

Ellis and his wife, Lindsay, call Sault Ste. Marie their home. Last week, it doubled as a spring break paradise.

How were the vacation digs for the Ellis couple? “Relaxing,” they said. Here they are catching a few rays on the balcony of their spring break condo.

Of course, no spring break vacation is complete without a little beach time.

“It’s ocean time, baby!” Tim commented as Lindsay enjoyed some “beach” time with their dogs.

Since it was five o’ clock somewhere, the Ellises cracked open a few cold ones during their break. “Two chilled beers in the sand by the Ocean,” Ellis said.

The Ellises trip seemed to resonate with social media. “It’s who your with that matters most. Enjoy your well deserved time off,” wrote one friend. Another chimed in, “That sand is so white!” One commenter noted the importance of sunscreen. “You both be cautious. People usually get sun burned on Spring break.”
