DETROIT (Michigan News Source) – Tied at 98 with four minutes left in the game, Miami finished on a 14-2 run to take the win over Detroit, 112-100. James Wiseman hit a jumper with 4:20 left to tie the game as that became the final bucket for the Pistons in the game. Jaden Ivey hit two free throws with 58 seconds left for the 100th points in the game that put them down by eight, 108-100.

“Our execution wasn’t there down the stretch. James played a hell of a game, but our transition defense is still tough. We’re getting there, but we’re not there yet,” said head coach Dwane Casey.

Six players scored in double figures as Wiseman posted a double-double with 22 points and 13 rebounds going 10-of-13 from the floor. Cory Joseph came off the bench to score 16 points.

Detroit’s best quarter came in the third quarter scoring 34 points. Eugene Omoruyi hit a buzzer beating three-pointer for a seven-point lead, 81-74, entering the fourth quarter. Detroit kept their lead for most of the fourth quarter. Wiseman had a dunk at 6:22 for a three-point lead and then Killian Hayes had a three-pointer with 5:12 left for a four-point lead, 96-92. Wiseman gave Detroit their last lead, 98-96, at 4:20 before Miami finished on their run to take the game.

Detroit heads to Atlanta to face the Hawks on Tuesday night.
